Our unique ‘Railway Library’ is located in a working station on the scenic Lancaster to Barrow route – The Furness Line. It is primarily a reference and lending library, free and open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11.00 to 16.00 – or by appointment/pot luck if we’re about. We have a large number of books for sale (mostly donations which duplicate existing stock – keep ’em coming!)…
We also have a stock of model railway equipment for sale as well as railway DVDs.
We have regular exhibitions – over the summer we ran a small exhibition on ‘Holidays by Train’ featuring books, posters and handbills. Our ‘Mutual Improvement Class’ (MIC) is usually on the second Wednesday at

14.00 with informal but interesting talks. See ‘events’. Our ‘pop-up station buffet’ offers complimentary teas and coffee. Donations welcome.
If you are interested in volunteering for a day or two a month, you’ll be made very welcome. Ring Paul on 07795 008691 if you’d like to discuss.
Kents Bank is a great place to visit, on the north shore of Morecambe Bay. It’s a pleasant walk, or quick train ride, from Grange-over-Sands.
Next door to Station House is the excellent Beach Hut Gallery (www.thebeachhutgallery.co.uk). The station gardens are a delight at any time of year, cared for by Friends of Kents Bank Station and Foreshore.
